Great impressions,  wonderful scenery, charmant B&Bs and excellent organization and planning! Unfortunately, we had to cut our stay short, but a big thank you again to Russ, who was incredibly helpful and managed to find solutions for us even at very short notice. Gorgeous and Stress Free Hiking Holiday We booked our hiking holiday with Western Discoveries early 2026, the entire process was seamless from start to finish. Russ asked leading questions when we first contacted WD to help plan the best trip for both our abilities and what we were aiming to see on this first trip to Cornwall. His suggestions were spot on for what we were looking for. As we approached our travel dates, we were supplied with GPX files (really liked this!) and information packs on what to expect for each day of hiking; details on the b&b we would be staying at each night as well as details on natural history and cultural history for each leg of the hike. We were advised to call ahead to book reservations for dinner, much appreciated advice which we took advantage of. When we arrived, Russ was there to pick us up and take us to our first b&b and sent us off with a printed pack of notes and booklets. Fantastic! We followed the request to have our bags down to reception each day at the designated time. All in all, this was a wonderfully organized trip which took the stress off of our shoulders and where we could settle into the job at hand of getting on with our walks each day. It was a wonderful holiday, exceptionally communicative folks at Western Discoveries and equally well organized. Cornwall is a gem of a location. We had the best time in Cornwall (from Marazion to Lizard Point). We loved the nature and the hotels and B&B's  arranged by Western Discoveries were all good, all in a different way, which is great! The service from Western Discoveries is very good. The route information was easy to use and in advance we already received information so we hit the road well-prepared! We met other hikers who were less content about the service from their travel agent. So we made the right choice booking a Western Discoveries holiday! Zum zweiten Mal haben wir eine Reise über Ross gebucht – und auch dieses Mal sind wir rundum begeistert. Unsere Wanderung auf dem South West Coastal Path von Marazion nach Falmouth war einfach wunderschön und wird uns noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben. Besonders schätzen wir, wie zuverlässig und herzlich Ross uns begleitet hat: Er war jederzeit erreichbar, hatte immer hilfreiche Tipps parat und hat mit viel Gespür großartige Unterkünfte für uns ausgewählt. Alles war bestens organisiert – der Gepäcktransfer ebenso wie der Taxi-Service haben reibungslos funktioniert, sodass wir uns ganz auf das Wandern und Genießen konzentrieren konnten. Everything worked well. When we were making our plans, our first choice had a few too many transfers included. So I told Russ our dates were flexible, he came up with a much better plan 3 days later. We had a great holiday walking from St. Ives to Porthleven. We arrived at  Newquay airport and Russ picked us up and brought us to our first nights lodging. We had a long trip so we spent 2 days in St Ives. From there we just hiked the SWC to our next stop. At each stop our rooms were ready and our bags were there. Everything was fantastic! And we regularly share this experience with our friends and colleagues 😁 Cornwall is beautiful, and these guys made it better! Great maps of our hikes, details on the paths, everything. And the accomodations! Just fabulous! Just do it!
